On Monday, the children at Brightside School had a surprise when they came back to school after the half term holidays. The playground had new markings!!

The children in school council decided that they wanted playground markings. This was so that KS1 classes could use the markings for the ‘Daily Mile’ to help them to have a track to run around. They also wanted some games such as hopscotch and a target board.

The school council asked the rest of their class what kind of markings they would like. Children suggested footprints, handprints, sharks and a starting point to race around. Mr Webber used these ideas to design the track around the outside.

The children love their new playground!
