Year 2 children use recycling materials to make bridges
The year 2 children have been learning the story ‘The three Billy Goats Gruff’. They looked at the different types of bridges e.g. a suspension bridge, an arch bridge.
The children investigated how they could make the parts of a bridge such as the base and supporting poles then designed their own bridge. They brought in recycling materials from home to make their bridges e.g. boxes, cartons, tubes, bottles.
On Thursday the children had an exciting morning making their bridges. They loved testing them using cars, people and animals to check that they were sturdy and strong. They showed them to everyone in Green Week assembly in the afternoon.
Thank you for donating the recycling materials for the children to use.
