The children at Brightside School have been very busy today learning about Chinese New Year. The new year officially begins on Tuesday 5th February and it will be the year of the pig. The whole school have split into groups and moved around the different classrooms to learn about different aspects of China.  They have made 'Lucky Red Envelopes', Chinese Lanterns and fans, learnt how to write their name in Chinese and taken part in a dragon dance. They have then celebrated at the end of the afternoon with a whole school assembly so each group can present their favourite activity. The children have really enjoyed their day.
