You may have noticed the new additions on Jenkin Road outside our school. We would like to welcome Billy and the Belinda Bollard!

We have had the bollards installed to improve road safety around the school.  Jenkin Road is a very busy road and over the years we have received many concerns from parents/carers, children and the wider community. These concerns include reports of accidents and near misses, vehicles being driven at speed or left unattended on the kerb and traffic congestion due to parked cars.

During the summer term in 2017, the school council decided they wanted to raise money to improve road safety around school. Together the school’s parent/carer group, children and staff organised a successful summer event and with a generous contribution from a local company, we raised £600. The council then matched the funding, enabling the bollards to be purchased. The children helped to choose the design of the bollards.
